Stressed Out

Welcome back! It feels like we blinked and summer is over. Maybe it’s because we’ve been having so much fun or because we’ve been so stressed out?…

Where We’ve Been

Since we got married over 4 years ago, Nina and I have spent A LOT of time together. However, between a bachelorette party in Salt Lake and a bachelor party in Joshua Tree, we’ve been on opposite schedules quite a bit this month. This made our time in Mexico for Nina’s birthday even more special. A week spent with family, eating endless amounts of nachos and bottomless Piñatas (virgin Piña Coladas), and soaking up the sun—it was a much-needed mental, physical, and emotional break from the world.

Where We’re Going

But all of these travels are just the beginning. This month, we’re stoked to visit some friends who have been living on the island of Kauai! This will be Nina’s first time on Kauai, and it’s the place of some of my (Jay) very first memories from a family trip when I was 4 years old! Once we get back to the mountains, we’re in for a busy fall with more weddings, hunting season (something I’ve enjoyed learning since moving to Wyoming that you’ll probably never see us post about on Instagram), and a potential move from our condo (more on that in a future newsletter, but don’t worry we’re not leaving Jackson Hole, just moving to a bigger spot).

What We’re Learning

Can we hear God’s voice? How do we hear it? What do we do if we feel like we hear different things? Amidst all the noise and busyness of life, Nina and I are learning how to discern God’s Will for our lives. Faith, finances, family, friends, and figuring out what to do with our time and talents all matter to Him. We want to be good stewards of it all.

I think of the Parable of the Talents. At the end of my life, I want to come before the Lord and hear him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.”

In Case You Missed It

It’s been 4 years since we started @jayxnina, and this summer we’ve felt inspired to recreate some of our older videos into more updated travel guides (like Iceland, Grand Teton, and Banff - coming soon!).

One of the first summers we lived out here we created a Grand Teton driving tour video, but this summer we had a ton of fun updating it and adding new favorite spots/hidden gems we didn’t know about a few years ago.
