Settling Down

December 2025

For the first time in a long time… we’ve got no plans. Sorta 🤷🏼‍♂️

Where We’ve Been

Right after getting back from New Zealand we had a co-ed baby shower out in California! We like to use any excuse we can to rally friends and family together. We felt so loved going into our next big adventure of Parenthood! Our little family was showered in so many gifts that only half of the presents could fit into our SUV…

After quickly getting Nina and baby back for their 30-week appointment, we signed some papers and moved into OUR NEW HOUSE. We have been absolutely blown away by how The Lord has blessed us this year and cannot wait to use this new space to bring Him glory!

The original plan was to hunker down in Jackson and get moved in for the winter. But with half of our baby stuff awaiting us in CA… we had a great excuse to squeeze in just one more California trip for Thanksgiving!

It was crazy knowing that this would be the last time seeing our family before Baby Cummings’ arrival. We found ourselves coming home with a new (to us) truck and a bed packed out with a couch, generator, TV, and new mattress!

Where We’re Going

Nina has entered full-nesting mode. Black Friday was quite timely for filling our new space with furniture and decor to really make it feel like home. This winter will be uncharted territory for us as we will start making more family and lifestyle content. Not only am I excited to be a Dad, but I cannot wait to capture so many special and funny moments with baby!

What about skiing? Nina may be on the sidelines for the start of the season, but she is motivated to get out there by the Spring for our trip to Vail! Since this is our first season in 5 years not working at anyed local resorts, I am expecting to have my biggest backcountry (and maybe cross-country) skiing season ever!! I hope that having to work for my turns will keep me motivated to stay in good shape.

What We’re Learning

From what we read in Scripture, we have always known that God is our Provider. But man—have we really experienced that this year. At the Thanksgiving dinner table, I found myself overwhelmed by how faithful He has been to us. We serve a Way-Maker and a Good Father. There have been so many things that have happened this year that we didn’t understand and still don’t understand. But we have grown to trust the fact that “…a man may plan his ways, but the Lord directs his steps” - Proverbs 16:9

In Case You Missed It

We have officially kicked off our New Zealand Series!

You may know that we’re no strangers to vanlife, after having built, lived in and traveled all around the US and Iceland in them.
