We are going to make it! We can see light at the end of the tunnel.
Fourth Quarter. Last lap. Strong to the finish.

Nina’s first time in a helicopter in Kauai.
Where We’ve Been
I always thought people went to Hawaii because they were afraid of traveling internationally, but this past month Kauai really won us over. The island was much more than a tropical getaway, it really was paradise. Our friends and fellow content creators, Maddie and Patrick (@thetravelmentors), invited us out to stay with them at their incredible spot. Highlights from the week were going on a helicopter ride, seeing the NaPali Coast on a boat tour, eating musubi (SPAM sushi), and staying at the Grand Hyatt Kauai.
On the back end of Kauai, we had our usual scheduled California “layover” before returning to Jackson. We’ve really felt like full-blown adults lately, getting rental cars and hotel rooms even with friends and family in the area. Our reason for being in CA this time was wedding #3 of 5 this year. Always fun seeing Nina’s friends from college—especially considering how their senior year came to a surprise ending with the onset of COVID (they didn’t even get a graduation ceremony 🥺).
The return to Jackson has consisted of watching the leaves change, enjoying hunting season, and packing boxes…
California wedding number #3 of 5 this year.
Where We’re Going
Surprise—surprise we’re going BACK to California. This time for our final 2 weddings on back-to-back weekends! With the time in between, we will be driving up the central coast to see and stay with some friends and film some content in Big Sur.
All of that serves as the appetizer for the resurgence of vanlife! This time just for a few weeks (not a year lol) and in New Zealand. We plan to drive all over the South Island but will heartbreakingly miss Hobbiton on the North Island. Instead, we opted for a 3 day "stopover” in Fiji so that Jay can pretend to live out his dreams of competing on Survivor.
What We’re Learning
God is The Provider. Time and time again stressful circumstances tempt us to become overwhelmed with worry. The illusion of control and hustle culture make us want to work more, make rash decisions, and feel “too busy” for time with The Lord.
This past month, I have prayed some pretty powerful prayers. Ever heard how specific prayers get specific answers? I can confirm this from personal experience. He is so faithful. He has come through every. single. time.
Here’s a picture to help describe this past month:
It’s like God and I are on the same basketball team. It’s the fourth quarter—the clock is winding down. Of course, I have decided to pass the ball to our star player, Jesus, to take the game-winning shot. Everything is in slow motion… and even though I trust Him to take the shot, you can’t help but feel the suspense as the ball flies through the air, awaiting the final outcome of the game.
Does that make sense? We will explain more in our next newsletter…
